Don't miss out on winter fuel payment

David Howarth, MP for Cambridge, has today called on over 60s in Cambridge to claim their Winter Fuel Payment before the 30 March deadline.
Mr. Howarth commented:
"Far too many people in Cambridge suffer from fuel poverty. Poor home insulation leads to cold homes and high fuel bills, especially in the cold and snow we are experiencing this week.
"Winter Fuel Payments are available to everyone over 60 on the 24 September 2006. I would encourage those who are eligible to claim their entitlement before the application deadline on March 30.

"If we were to improve home insulation we could cut fuel bills significantly. The Government should allow older and severely disabled people to exchange a Winter Fuel Payment for improved insulation. This could cut heating bills by more than £100 every year."
