Government's nuclear obsession will not meet energy targets

Lib Dem Energy Spokesperson, David Howarth, has responded to news that the Government's energy policy has been thrown into disarray by new EU targets for renewable energy.
The European Union have recently agreed enforceable targets for 20% of all energy, including electricity, heating and fuel for domestic aviation and cars, must come from renewable sources.
Mr. Howarth commented:

"The Government seems to be in confusion about this. Legally enforceable targets for renewables across all energy sources, not just electricity, are very important. The Government is now discovering why its obsession with nuclear power, which will only affect electricity, is not the solution to our energy problems."
