LIB DEMS DENOUNCE NHS DENTISTRY SHAMBLES - COUNTY

Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats have attacked the Government over new dentist's contracts.

These disastrous contracts continue to prevent patients from having complex treatment as the funding simply does not provide the cash or incentive.

Councillor Geoff Heathcock, Health Spokesman, made comments on the back of a survey by the Patients Association and added:

"The Government has repeated over and over again that NHS dentistry is readily available across the country but this is not true. It also has said that treatments like root canal would be paid for by the NHS but 90% of Primary Care Trusts don't fund them.

"Oral care is incredibly important and should be readily available to everyone at time of need."
