LIB DEMS MAINTAIN CONTROL OF CAMBRIDGE CITY COUNCIL

Lib Dem RosetteLib Dems won 8 out of 14 seats up for election yesterday, including an outstanding win in King's Hedges.

3 newcomers were elected, Salah Al-Bander in Trumpington, Neil McGovern in King's Hedges and Tim Bick in Market. Jennifer Liddle, a former Councillor, was comfortably re-elected in East Chesterton.

Local activist Kilian Bourke won the Romsey County seat in the by-election.

Also re-elected were Sian Reid in Newnham, Ian Nimmo-Smith in West Chesterton, Catherine Smart in Romsey and Amanda Taylor in Queen Edith's.

Ian Nimmo-Smith, leader of the City Council, extended his warmest thanks to campaigners and volunteers and David Howarth MP congratulated all the candidates for their great work.
