Council seeks additional efficiencies from new procurement strategy

• At yesterday's Strategy and Resources Scrutiny Committee meeting, Cambridge City Council approved a new procurement strategy aimed at improving further the way the Council procures the services it uses
• The new strategy builds on the Council's efforts in this area over the last few years by making the procurement exercise more accessible and easier to use for suppliers
• In addition, the strategy provides enhanced guidance and training to the Council's employees regarding procurement exercises that they may undertake on behalf of the Authority
Coun Rod Cantrill, Executive City Councillor for Customer Services and Resources, commented:
"It is important that over the coming years the Council refreshes its efforts to drive out further efficiencies in the area of procurement.
This will in turn assist the authority in delivering better value for money services the residents of Cambridge"
