County Councillor attacks serious delay in safety barrier repairs

11.01.52am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 21st Aug 2007

County Councillor Geoff Heathcock has criticised the very long delay in getting Cambridgeshire County Council to repair safety barriers at the junction of three very busy roads in Queen Edith's.

Councillor Heathcock has been in regular contact with the Council since early June about the damage to barriers both on the junction and in the middle of the carriageway at Hills Road and Long Road and has been given various different reasons as to why the work has yet to be carried out.

He added:

"It cannot be right in this day and age that we have to wait for three months to get a simple but important job like this carried out; we need not only answers but also robust measures to ensure that this delay is not repeated."
