Cambridge MP David Howarth dropped in to Chesterton Community College to thank pupil Cherie Rosemin for designing his Christmas card.

Cherie's entry was chosen from dozens of artwork entered for the Christmas card competition by youngsters from schools across the city. Her design, which won her a bag full of gifts, showed a giraffe putting the star on the top of the Christmas tree.

Mr Howarth said: "Cherie's idea was excellent. It was very humorous and extremely well done. She clearly has artistic flare and I hope that she will continue to enjoy putting her ideas down on paper."

He also congratulated runners up Leo Freund-Williams, Jessie Evans and Millie Hampson who received certificates from Mr Howarth for their designs.
