Ian Manning - Chesterton
Ian Manning has been selected by the local Lib Dems as County Council candidate for Chesterton this May. Ian was previously the County Councillor for Chesterton from 2010-2021.
As County Councillor, Ian had a strong record of delivering for our area and listening to local people.
He was heavily involved in the success of Cambridge North Station, the Chisholm Trail including the new river bridge, and the opening of Chesterton Primary where he was a Governor after it first opened.
In addition, he’s supported and received funding for numerous other small projects across the area, from small road improvements to the mural outside the Green End Road Co-op.
Outside of politics, Ian works in IT for part of the University, enjoys keeping fit & Ju-jitsu and can be found trying (and failing) to win West Coast Swing Dance competitions around the Country.
Ian says, “If elected I will do as much face-to-face consultation with residents as possible, no matter how minor the scheme or issue.”
“I want to make sure that everyone’s voice is heard on all issues, plans and developments impacting our local community and listened to by the City & County Councils and by the GCP.”
